CCYC's Junior Fleet is a parent-involved group that aims to encourage and develop the sailing and water-related skills of our children (ages 7 to 18) through instructional and peer-to-peer interaction in a structured yet fun and social educational environment. Junior Fleet was re-established in 1996 to develop knowledgeable youth sailors and instill in them a love of the sport of boating that will serve as a foundation for their future and that of CCYC. No previous sailing experience is necessary to join Junior Fleet. Any parents interested in getting more involved in sailing and volunteering should contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

Junior Fleet Information
Beginners start sailing in the Prams and Optimists. They work on learning how to properly rig the boats and the basics of sailing. Beginners are of all ages and it is the first step in building their confidence on the water.
Designed for those who have learned the beginner's skills and are ready for the next step. This level includes improving sailing techniques and learning how to get the most out of the boat by building skills in speed and accuracy.
For sailors who have successfully conquered the first two levels and are ready to implement their knowledge in the world of racing. This level includes many races on the 420s or Optimists.
