Fundamental skills development is the core attribute of any sailor. Whether it is learning to read the wind and the waves or how to improve sail trim, education and continuing education are often necessary to increase the fun and improve safety out on the water. Attaining and maintaining these valuable skills help contribute to a life-long love of the sport.
CCYC's Crew School serves as the perfect introduction to a broad-based sailor skillset. The focus is on providing an understanding of teamwork, strategy, and execution, and how all of these lead to safety and success out on the water.
So whether you are interested in finding a boat to crew on, want to have a base-line knowledge for helping your friends out cruising on the lake, or becoming a member of a racing program, Crew School will help get you started.
CCYC's Adult Sailing School continues your education with a sixteen hour “on-the-water” instruction in the school’s Rhodes 19 keelboats and 420 dinghy sized boats. US sailing certified instructors will give you the essentials of sailing and make you a confident sailor and crew who loves being on the water.
And don't forget about the kids! CCYC's Junior Sailing aims to
encourage and develop the sailing and water-related skills of our
children (ages 7 to 18) through instructional and peer-to-peer
interaction in a structured yet fun and social educational environment.
Junior Fleet was re-established in 1996 to develop knowledgeable youth
sailors and instill in them a love of the sport of boating that will
serve as a foundation for their future.
Throughout the season CCYC also sponsors a variety of Seminars aimed at improving boater safety and increasing awareness on specific topics.
