CCYC's Sailing Crew Training Program
(aka "Crew School")
Have you been wanting to join your friends, family or co-workers out on the water?
Do you wish you knew more about what they're doing and want to help out?
Come Join CCYC’s Sailing Crew Training Program, held each Spring, and we will teach you the skills you need to become a valued crew member to join them!
Participants must be at least 18 years old.
Our 6 week program is held on (6) consecutive Wednesdays
Wednesday April 5, 2017 through Wednesday, May 10, 2017
7pm to 9:30pm.
All Classes are held indoors at the CCYC Clubhouse at Montrose Harbor (*NO Boat Required)
Experienced Skippers and Racing Crew will introduce you to:
- Nautical Terms & Physics
- Points of Sail & Sail Trim
- Crew Roles & Responsibilities
- Behavior on Board
- What to Wear & Safety Equipment
- Weather & Boat Safety
- Racing Rules & More......
Hands on Demo's include:
- Knot Tying
- Winch Operation & Care
- Sail Folding & Spinnaker Packing
- Outdoor Boat Demo
- Skipper Meet & Greet
