Friday Moonlight Series

Enjoy the stunning illuminated Chicago skyline under the moonlight as you race around the cribs in this long-standing perennial event. There are sections for PHRF, JAM, and T-10's.

2006 MOONLIGHT SERIES

 This year there will be 4 moonlight races. We have tried to schedule all of the races on Friday night as close as possible to the months full moon. We welcome all CCYC member boats as this will be a fun series.  Here are the dates 6/9, 7/7, 8/11, 9/8

Special Sailing Instructions (SSI’s)

ORC Category: 4                      Starting Area: SA1                   Class Breaks:  T-10, PHRF-Spin and PHRF-JAM

Course:  Course Marks are Wilson Ave. Crib, Carter-Harrison (Dever) Crib, and SA1 (shown as marks to starboard, reverse for marks to port).  Green flag, marks to starboard; red flag, marks to port.  Course may be shortened at either crib.

Time Limit:  22:30 Hours.   Boats failing to finish within the time limit shall be scored DNF (did not finish).  This changes RRS 35 (Time Limit).

No Sail Zones: The Coast Guard and Chicago Police Department have designated all the cribs as “Restricted Areas”.  For security reasons, they should not be approached closer than 100 yards nor should anyone sail inside the area surrounding the cribs that are marked by specially marked buoys.  Sailing within these marked buoys shall be grounds for disqualification.  All area bound within the specially marked buoys is defined as an obstruction.

Protests:  Contact CCYC Protest Chair Andrea Krasinski by the Monday following the race.
