ARTICLE I
Name and Objectives
Section 1.01  Name
The name of the organization shall be CCYC Junior Fleet. The organization is herein referred to as the fleet.
Section 1.02 Objective
CCYC Junior Fleet is formed in association with the Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club as an athletic, social, and educational organization that is designed to:
-introduce sailing and seamanship to boys and girls;
-encourage boys and girls to take an interest in and gain proficiency in all forms of boat handling;
-teach the principals of sportsmanship and fair play;
-maintain by ownership, lease, or otherwise, a fleet of small boats that can be operated safely by boys and girls.

ARTICLE II
Membership and Dues
Section 2.01  Membership
Any person between the ages of 7 and 18 years of age, associated with a CCYC club member, having an interest in boating, is eligible for membership. Persons whose parent(s) are not members of CCYC will be granted a one season grace period during which time will be a full member of the fleet. After one season, the parent(s) will be required to join the CCYC in order for the person to continue their membership with the Fleet.
Section 2.02  Dues
The amount of dues shall be established yearly based on the operating costs of the fleet. Dues will be determined by the Fleet advisory council and will be approved by the CCYC Board of Directors.
Membership dues are payable by June 1st of each year.

ARTICLE III
Officers, Advisors and Elections
Section 3.01  Officers
The elected officers shall consist of Commodore, Vice Commodore, Rear
Commodore, Secretary, and Treasurer. Officers of the CCYC Junior Fleet must have a parent or grandparent who is a member of CCYC.
A) The Commodore will preside over all meetings and shall be responsible for the general management of the affairs of the fleet.
B) The Vice Commodore, during the absence or disability of the commodore, shall have all the powers and functions of the Commodore, and is responsible for the social calendar of the fleet.
C) Rear Commodore will report on the condition and upkeep of the fleet’s property at meetings, provide a meeting area for fleet.
D) The Secretary shall keep minutes at all the meetings, keep fleet records, maintain the attendance log and shall attend to the correspondence of the fleet.
E) The Treasurer is responsible for keeping track of the fleets funds.
Section 3.02  Advisor(s)
Regular members of CCYC whose children are participating in the fleet will select regular members of CCYC to act as fleet advisors. The fleet advisors will assist the fleet officers in carrying out the business of the fleet and will represent the fleet to the Board and Officers of CCYC.
Section 3.03  Nominations
A nominating committee will be chosen by the present officers.  The nominating
committee will present a slate of nominations at a specified general meeting held prior to the fleet’s awards banquet.
Section 3.04  Elections
Elections will be held at a specified fleet meeting held prior to the fleet’s awards banquet.
Section 3.05 Voting
Officers will be elected by voice majority at a specified fleet meeting.
Section 3.05  Terms of  Office
Commodore, Vice Commodore, and Rear commodore shall be elected for one year. Secretary and Treasurer will be elected for two years.

ARTICLE IV
Meetings
Section 4.01  Regular Meetings
Regular meetings shall be held once a month September through May and weekly during the months of June, July, and August.
Section 4.02  Order of Business
The order of Business at fleet meetings shall be as follows:
During the sailing season, instructional meetings will be held at least once a week at CCYC.  These meetings will include land demonstrations, on-water training, racing, videos, and classroom style instruction.
During the months of October through April, meetings will be held once a month at CCYC.   These meetings will include videos, review of textbooks, worksheets, and hands-on activities.
The Fleet Flag Officers will meet once a month to discuss fleet activities and fleet business. Each flag officer will give a report at each meeting.

ARTICLE V
Safety
Section 5.01 PFD’s
All members of the fleet must own a U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (PFD) and must wear it to all meetings and training sessions during the months of April through October. Members who are not wearing their life jackets when required to do so will have their sailing privileges revoked for a time period specified by the adult instructor presiding over the meeting.

ARTICLE VI
Ethical Behavior
All members of the fleet are required to act in an ethical and sportsman like manner at all times.
Section 6.01 Conduct
Members heard swearing or using vulgar language will have their sailing privileges revoked for a time period specified by the adult instructor presiding over the meeting.
Section 6.02 Theft
A fleet member who steals from any member of the fleet, CCYC or any person associated with CCYC or Montrose Harbor will be immediately expelled from the fleet.
Section 6.03 Vandalism
A fleet member who vandalizes the property of the fleet, CCYC, or any member or person associated with CCYC or Montrose Harbor will be immediately expelled from the fleet.
