Red Flannels Regatta
Back to Fleet 5 Homepage

Introduction
The Red Flannels Regatta is hosted by Fleet 5 and sailed on the open waters of Lake Michigan east of
Montrose Harbor.  This regatta, sailed annually since 1952, is the last of the Midwest District regattas each
season.  The regatta earns its name from the fact that conditions on the lake in late September are often
dominated by cool NE wind blowing 15 - 25 kts.  There is no better way to test a season hardened crew!

This event draws 20+ boats and regularly includes a couple of North America's top 10 racers.  We invite you
to come test your mettle in Chicago!
