Aug. 9/10 Long Distance Race - CCYC to Jackson Park
Dear Fellow Corinthians,
We have a Long Distance "Fun Race" to Jackson Park this weekend. In the past this has been a very popular race, being easy, scenic and with a great reception by Jackson Park Yacht Club. This year JPYC has invited us to their dinner and Jazz party. Please see the attached information for times and costs. I hope as many of you as possible will be able to join us. Here is the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions. General Instructions: Time Limit: 5 hours Course: Start is the Corinthian Circle center pin also known as SA1 (approx. N41 deg 57.740’ W87 deg 36.4’) to finish, due east of the end of Casino Pier [click here]. It’s the end of the breakwall outside of the Jackson Park harbor entrance. Approx.(41 47.067, 87 34.050)The JPYC committee boat will be on station to take times. Return is the reverse. Please note that "Morgan Shoal" is well inshore, but there have been a number of reports of boats going aground there. Please use your normal seamanlike caution. Start Time for Saturday August 9th 2008: Warning is at 12:00, Start at 12:05, with Spinnaker Class Start at 12:10 Power boats should plan their trip to arrive Jackson at 5:00PM for social hour, dinner at 6:00PM, and music at 7:00PM. Start Times for Sunday August 10th 2008 Warning is at 11:00, Start at 11:05, with Spinnaker Class Start at 11:10 Finish for both days Please record your finish time, the name of the boat in front of you and the name of the boat behind you (if known). Your finish should be called in to 773-960-7047 (leave message) or via email to jrmlist@sbcglobal.net by 18:00 Monday August 13th 2007 Protests: Will be heard upon buying the Protest Chairman Dinner and standing on your head for 1 minute. This modifies RRS 61. I hope as many of our Club members can make it Racers, Cruisers, Power boaters even Fishermen.
